The option to disable windows update in Windows 10
tech preview is disabled by Microsoft. It makes sense to a reasonable
extent since they want feedback about bugs from users and of course the
feedback will be useful if the user is running the latest update.....
If you do want to completely disable Windows Update, you can do this by changing the Registry setting:
Win+R and enter regedit
Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update\AUOptions
Right click on AUOptions and edit
change AUOptions to from 4 to 1
Windows 10 will never check for updates.
All the options are:
"1 -> Never check for updates (not recommened)"
"2 -> Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them"
"3 -> Download updates but let me choose whether to install them"
"4 -> Install updates automatically (recommended)"
