Okitipupa, the commercial nerve center of Ikale land in Ondo South senatorial district has been disconnected from the national electricity supply grid since 2014.



things stand now, it is obvious the entire southern senatorial district is ‘celebrating’ the second year anniversary of power outage.

While one cannot deny the fact that effort have been made by government and community leaders to bring back the light, one is minded of the saying that “almost does not kill a bird”. Until concerted efforts of stakeholders result in the returning of electricity supply to these areas in perennial darkness, the agitation either subtle or loud for a return of electricity to Ikale and its neighboring communities will not stop. To all concerned stakeholders, the chorus remains, "bringbackourlight"
