Abuja - President Goodluck Jonathan has rejected the offer of becoming the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the end of his tenure, reports Tribune.
Members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), national caucus, BoT members, National
Executive Committee (NEC) and some elders of the party have been putting pressure on Jonathan to accept the offer.
The party leaders have wanted him to occupy the position as a mark of honour and for his contributions to the party .
Jonathan in rejecting the offer told the party leaders that he needed some rest before he would probably return into active politics.
Tony Anenih is the current Chairman of the BOT of the party.
