Abuja - Pandemonium hit the Ikorodu LGA of Lagos State on Thursday when gunmen invaded a residence and shot dead a man and his two sons, Punch reports.
The attackers, suspected of having been sent to conduct the hit, are also alleged to have shot the man's wife and daughters, leaving them for dead on the property.
The man, whose identity has yet to be ascertained, was killed at the scene along with both his sons, aged just three years old and two months old respectively.
"The attackers were not robbers; they went to only the man’s apartment. I was told that they did not take away any property. That is why everyone suspects that the killers were sent. They shot all members of his family presumably, so that no one would be able to report to the police," revealed a resident from Ebute who visited the scene of the crime.
SP Dolapo Badmos, PR Officer for the Lagos State Police, has confirmed the deaths, stating that an investigation into the matter remains ongoing.
The man's wife and daughters are currently receiving treatment for their injuries at a hospital in the area, The National Mirror reports.
